Hindus making impact
Politics (India & its impact to India profile worldwide)
PM Modi has made tremendous impact internationally and recently the Indian public still had a lot of faith in him, especially with the rise of economic development.
We need to write about how Modi is motivating Indian diaspora across the world to work towards benefiting India and themselves.
Headings: “Leading Indians across the world” , How Indian origin works to benefit India, “Modi see opportunity in Indian Origin population across the globe”
Politics UK
Hindus have been slow in taking up politics in the UK. There are only 5 Hindus in parliament and a couple of lords. More recently however, this is changing as people like Lord Popat, Priti Patel, Shailesh Vara etc have become high profile. More recently, Jitesh Gadhia has earned a peerage.

Hindu Politian’s – Who’s Who (incuding HOL)
It would be very difficult to show which party is working against the Hindus as it really is not the case. The party may not be doing a good job but no political party would want to lose nearly a million population of people who are very successful.
Technology
India is becoming renowned for its IT expertise. It has the world’s highest number of engineers being trained in all areas, and especially IT related. Following on from this, many Indians are making it big all over the world.

We perhaps will need to find UK India links of companies – this will take a bit of time.
Space
NASA has a disproportionate number of Indians. India launches many British satellites and it got to Mars with a lower budget than the film Gravity. European space programme now depends heavily on India.

British Hindus are the most successful in the education system compared to the indigenous white community or any other community, including the Chinese.

Contribution to mankind

Some of the most successful business people in the UK are Hindus. These include Mittal and Hindujas. There is also the annual Asian Rich List produced by the Asian Trader Group.

Religion
Neasden Temple has made the north London borough of Neasden into an international tourist site. It has also given Hinduism in Britain a special recognition attracting international Who’s Who to visit. The Temple has further profile the lives of Hindus by doing astonishing amount of social action projects, providing food and education on site which shows the holistic life of Hinduism.

Hindu Values
The problem is all religions will say about tolerance and being nice to your neighbours. So what makes Hindus different. We need to show India has never invaded another country. Hindus blend in wherever they go and make social, cultural and economic impact in their adopted country. Just look at USA, East Africa etc…. This is due to Hindu values….
Bollywood
Bollywood films have helped profile Indian culture. Bollywood films regularly now make it in the British Top 10. For a community which is only 2% of the population, it is astonishing that the films make it into the mainstream Top 10. Andrew Lloyd Webber produced a London musical out of it – Bombay Dreams.
British Actors
British born Indians are doing well in the world of Arts and Culture. The most recent success being the re-emergence of Tara Arts.

Media
Asian press continues to do well with the might of Gavari Gujarat v Gujarat Samarchar. But the rise of satellite TV has allowed many Indian media into British homes. In addition, British born Indians are doing well in the mainstream media.
Naga Muchetty – I do not think Naga is Indian or would want to be associated in this manner. We need to think of obvious ones like Kamlesh Puhohit who is a practicing Hindu and Dep Head of BBC Radio Leicester.
